  23.     The notion already expressed about having two distinct  
  24. views is completely accurate.  The thing that seems to me to be the  
  25. greatest problem, would be the color compositing of the left-right  
  26. views.  In looking at red/blue 3-D products, the overlap of the two  
  27. images is the combination of the two colors, not merely one being  
  28. in front of the other.  Perhaps the additive button (I think that's  
  29. it, but I'm always guessing when I don't have LW in front of me)  
  30. would do the trick.  Render the view from one eye against a black  
  31. background using the appropriate red or blue coloration.  Then use  
  32. this as a background image while the other eye's view (with the  
  33. other color) is additively composited.  The black background could  
  34. then be clipped or keyed out and a background scene could be  
  35. inserted which would be in focus for either eye, and appear to be  
  36. at optical infinity.  This might be an extra nice touch for a 3-D  
  37. scene. (Personally, I don't think I would worry too much about the  
  38. world's best key here--3-D necessarily looks like trash when viewed  
  39. without the viewers, and the color filters may well hide low level  
  40. imperfections.  Just have to try it and see.)
